The Photo Tour

The house is perfect for a couple, yet also comfortably accommodates up to eight people.

The Barn House is a unique dwelling that was meticulously converted from a barn into a fabulous home full of unique woodwork. The Barn still retains its historical apearance with a few additions such as glass in the windows and porches beneath the doors.

This house is full of small details that give you a sense of being at your home away from home. As you approach the front door, you are greeted by a hand carved screen door showing the artistry of one of our local woodworkers. As you explore the fine town of Joseph, and its neighboring Enterprise you will see these screen doors on many of the businesses and homes. You can even take one home with you suited for your house and the way that you live and work.

Throughout this house you will find a wonderful mix of the old and new; the antique and modern. As you walk into the living room/dining room, you walk past the wood stove, next to a lovely antique oak cupboard. The westward facing window let in the light in the late evening, stretching the length of the day, and allowing you to enjoy watching the sun set over the mountains while you eat a late dinner.

Just off of the dining room/living room, the kitchen is a great social center with its bar and stools allowing the cook(s) to share in the activities of the evening. With the pantry just off the kitchen entrance, you can be working on dinner, or doing laundry, and not miss out on a moment.

Once night has fallen, or if your just in need of a quick nap, the three bedrooms upstairs provide you with a cool comfortable space, set aside from the main activity. There are two baths, one accessible from the hallway at the top of the stairs and the master suite, and the other off the hall at the base of the stairs. Each room has a full closet so there is plenty of space to store your things, and make yourself feel at home. Each of the large beds will sleep two comfortably. At the end of the hall, is a wide glass door and a small porch so you can enjoy the mountains and the breeze in quiet solitude.

If you like even more privacy, go up the last flight of steps into the loft. Here you find yourself floating above the earth with the northern light shining in through the open skylights, and the mountains to the south magnificent in your view through the large windows which close off what was once the main rafter and hay pulley. You can actually still see the old pully sitting on the rafter, just waiting to be used again.

And be sure to check out the SAUNA!
